Get a natural detox & feel refreshed
Substance abuse can grow like wildfire from a spark of drug use and burn friends and family in the process. Sovereign Health now features a natural detox program to assist patients as they seek recovery from drugs and alcohol. This recovery method is able to restore nutrients for clients, while avoiding replacement medications; thus sidestepping the effects of medication during the detox.

Natural Assisted Detox
Natural Assisted Detox is one means of patient treatment for substance abuse provided in our holistic program. This form of recovery does not involve any use of medication in alleviating the detoxification process. Instead, the patient will receive amino acid therapy to help restore the balance of neurotransmitters. Seeing as they play such a key role in brain functioning and the relaying of brain signals, improving the balance can also serve to improve one’s mental health in general.
Originally, Natural Assisted Detox was first developed by Dr. William Hitt in the 1980s. He had dedicated his career to learning more about how amino acids work in the body. He received the support of the World Health Organization during his research, much of which took place in Mexico. Dr. Hitt was involved with the 1985 Nobel peace Prize-winning group: International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War.
Neurotransmitter Restoration Therapy
Natural Assisted Detox involves the process of neurotransmitter restoration. This is a healing process the body will undergo in which production of neurotransmitters is augmented by implementing amino acid therapy, to boost system levels. When other therapies follow, the patient will be in a better state of mind to adapt to new circumstances.
Healthy neurons will receive the nutrients that they need in order to make up for the damaged ones. Without this therapy, neurotransmitters could take years to replace themselves. However, this process will help to shorten the time period to a span of one to two weeks.
Natural Assisted Detox therapy is intended to help speed up the recovery process for those who are withdrawing from substance abuse. This therapy has been shown to be both safe and effective. The client will receive the nutrients intravenously during the treatment period. Engaging in other forms of natural therapy at this time, such as exercise and a healthy diet, may also improve the odds of effectiveness.
Though the physical addiction will be eliminated, the full treatment period will be required to alleviate the psychological signs of dependence the user may have. It should be noted that if a patient returns to substance abuse after this treatment is complete, then the chemical balance will be thrown off.
In addition, there are also now tests that allow medical professionals to determine an imbalance in neurotransmitters through a blood or urine sample. This can also determine hormonal imbalances and other factors that may cause neurotransmitters to be disrupted. Such information will prove helpful in better outlining an individualized treatment plan.
One of the positives associated with this form of therapy is that there are no side effects as a result. This is understandable as there are no medications involved in the process. On the contrary, there are additional benefits that result from this form of recovery. These include alleviating depression patients of symptoms such as fatigue, sleeping difficulties, obesity and more.
This treatment has a high rate of effectiveness for patients that undergo therapy as recommended. This will include following the dietary recommendations and supplements as advised by medical professionals. Those that see the treatment process through and do not surrender to relapse will see the best results. A low level dose of amino acids will be necessary to keep neurotransmitter levels from eventually lowering again. If a patient has been taking selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, then this should not interfere with NAD. Eventually, the person may be weaned off of prescription drugs if they so desire as a result of this therapy.
Of course, the greatest level of effectiveness can often be seen by combining this therapy with additional forms of therapy. NAD is intended to improve the well-being of those who have abused drugs so that they are ready to make positive changes in their lives. Being able to stay sober in the long term will ultimately be based on the willpower of the individual. Those undergoing treatment should take advantage of all options available to them to increase the odds, including the unique benefits that NAD can provide.
